Kyro Kohan — backend and platform engineer, and engineering leader

Kyro Kohan

I'm a backend and platform engineer who builds the system and then builds the organization that runs it. I'm currently VP of Engineering at Dialogica, where I was the first engineer and architected the Go microservices platform behind Dia, an AI agent built for the legal industry.

I joined as employee number one and moved through Lead Engineer and Director to VP over ten months, growing engineering from one person to ten across three sub-teams. Along the way I built the identity, billing, AI routing, and integrations services the product runs on, and now own engineering strategy, hiring, compliance, and the budget.

I also founded KOHANTIC, a California technology consultancy for startups and growing businesses. Before that I built a computer-aided dispatch platform still sold by a private security firm, co-founded a SaaS CRM startup as CTO, and taught machine learning at UCLA while finishing dual B.S. degrees in Computer Science & Engineering and Physics.

You can read the full story of what I've worked on, look through things I've built on my own, or get in touch. My résumé is here.
